Encuentro MMM en Ginebra

Un grupo de 6 alumnos y 3 profesoras del IES Schamann hemos pasado unos maravillosos días en Ginebra, trabajando con alumnos y profesores del Centro Grandes Communes en el último encuentro del proyecto MMM.
Muchísimas gracias a toda la comunidad educativa de ese Centro por su cálida acogida.
Visitamos también la ONU y el CERN, dos importantes organizaciones europeas, donde nos explicaron con todo detalle la labor que realizan.

¡Nos vamos a Ginebra_Suiza!

La próxima semana estaremos en Ginebra participando en el quinto y último encuentro del proyecto MMM.

Hemos preparado algunos posters como resumen de lo que ha sido este proyecto, y un juego Maths Jeopardy  para llevar al centro escolar de Ginebra.

Premio Europeo eTwinnig 2015

Nuestro proyecto MMM_More Meaningful Math ha obtenido el Premio Europeo eTwinning 2015 en la categoría "Premio de lengua inglesa", patrocinado por el British Council.

"De 133 proyectos presentados a estos premios, se han seleccionado 10, uno por cada una de las 10 categorías: 3 categorías por edades y 7 categorías especiales. Se trata de proyectos que dan ejemplo de trabajo cooperativo y con resultados excelentes. Estamos deseando recompensar en persona a los participantes de estos proyectos en la ceremonia de entrega de premios, que tendrá lugar en Bruselas en mayo de 2015"

SMOS Satellite Presentation and Video Conference with the Expert Center in Madrid

ESA (European Space Agency) is developing some different missions. One of them is:

SMOS (Soil Moisture and Ocean Salinity) – SMOS satellite will make global observations of soil moisture over Earth’s landmasses and salinity over the oceans. The data will result in a better understanding of the water cycle and, in particular, the exchange processes between Earth’s surfaces and the atmosphere. Data from SMOS will help improve weather and climate models, and also have practical applications in areas such as agriculture and water resource management.

Quality labels

Hi everybody!
Two weeks ago I told you that our Project MMM had received the eTwinning Quality Label. 
Today we have got the European Quality Label, it means that now we can apply for the European eTwinning prize.

¡Felicidades! Su centro ha sido galardonado con el Sello de Calidad Europeo por el excelente trabajo realizado en el proyecto "MMM: More Meaningful Math" de eTwinning. Esto significa que su trabajo, el trabajo de sus estudiantes y el de su centro ha sido reconocido al más alto nivel europeo.

Por ese motivo, va a recibir un certificado que puede colgar en su página(s) web y exponerlo en un  lugar destacado de su centro escolar. Asimismo, su proyecto aparecerá en un sitio especial del Portal europeo en www.etwinning.net.

Muchas felicidades de nuevo por haber conseguido este gran premio. Confío que podamos coincidir en uno de los encuentros eTwinning de este año.
